I’m down about 52 pounds since I began using the SBH meal plan in January 2018. The best part is my arthritis doesn’t bother very much at all… I feel much better and more energized.
I used to take 2 Advil or rapid release Tylenol every night to be able to sleep and wake-up with reduced pain. I have degenerative arthritis in my spine and daily aches and pains around my hips. I was worried I would have to limit my hiking, and I just did not want to do that, nor rely on pills.
I have had a personal trainer on and off for several years who kept encouraging me to give up meat but I didn’t want to, so I kept trying other diets. I just didn’t know how to get started to change my focus on vegetables, beans, rice, etc. and get away from meat and dairy. After talking with Sara and reviewing her plan, it was easy to read and follow. Everything was laid out for me and that’s what I needed.
I no longer take medication for my arthritis. Between the eating plan and exercising and stretching, I have reduced the majority of my pain. Once in a while I will take some Tylenol because of a hard workout and my muscles are sore, but a good sore… I’m even up to holding a plank for 2 minutes.
The older we get, the harder it is to get motivated and get in shape. Wanting to improve my quality of life so I could keep doing the things I love, like hiking, was my motivation. It’s never too late for change… you can teach an old dog!
